About Net Notes
Net Notes, devised by practising teachers, are packed with information, tips and advice about how best to use the projects in the classroom and include:
- help and advice about access issues within schools and colleges
- guidelines on navigating each project’s hub site
- information about Web 2.0 tools to support each project’s use in the classroom
- suggestions for classroom and family activities for the full secondary age range including Post 16
- SEN and Gifted and Talented activity suggestions included
- downloadable activity support material including peer and self assessment sheets
- details of the curriculum relevance of each suggested activity for key subject areas

Every Child Matters
The Every Child Matters initiative affects every learning institution. Each project allows learning centres to apply the over-arching 5 initiatives of ECM to the curriculum in the following ways:
- Safe – encourages discussion and debate about personal safety in a variety of situations
- Healthy – helps students to consider global and personal health issues
- Enjoy and achieve – raises self esteem and self – confidence which will enhance sense of personal responsibility and allow individuals to make informed choices
- Make a positive contribution – allows students to make contributions to their own extended learning both within the community and the classroom
- Achieve economic well-being – recognise global variations in wealth and learn financial capabilities
Enrichment
All the suggested activities promote opportunities to offer enrichment to the core curriculum in your learning institution by:
- adding more depth to a programme of study
- offering a multitude of cross-curricula possibilities
- allowing the development of project and portfolio work which can go well beyond the boundaries of the classroom
- promoting higher level thinking and breadth of knowledge and understanding
- encouraging students to become independent inquirers, creative thinkers, effective participators, team workers and self managers
