Introduction

This unit provides a rare opportunity to take a behind-the-scenes look at theatre craft and production. With unique access to the RSC’s workshops and wardrobe, the camera follows the journey of new productions, such as Measure for Measure, directed by Michael Boyd and designed by Tom Piper. The programmes demonstrate the remarkable craft skills of the production staff in the Stratford workshops as they interpret Tom Piper’s design and help to realise the ‘world of the play’. Other featured productions include The Spanish Tragedy, Much Ado About Nothing and The Tempest.
