Aims & Learning Outcomes

• To show the catchment of one of Europe's major rivers and the impact of flood waters on the river valleys and the communities living along them.

• To demonstrate human impact on the environment and the influence of the environment on the way we live.

• To combine physical and human geography and emphasise the interrelationships between these two major components of the subject.

Pupils will be able appreciate the ways in which seemingly distant and sometimes abstract issues affect the lives of ordinary people.
