Aims

• To introduce GCSE students to the work of writers from Wales.
• To explore writing for a variety of different purposes: television, film, short story, novel, poetry, journalism, essay and drama.
• To develop an understanding of the writing process through extracts and discussion.
• To consider the Welsh dimension in English-language writing in Wales, by examining the roles of myth, dialect and place.
• To consider the nature of the relationship between the writer and the writer’s audience.
