Introduction

The series, presented by Kirsty Wark, takes a look at the fast-changing world of Scottish politics. How did Scotland get a Parliament? Who won the elections, and why? What powers does the Scottish Parliament have? Will Scotland become independent? How have other countries dealt with devolution? What has happened in Catalonia? These and many other questions are tackled.

Description of Activities

The activities for each programme are divided into three sections:

  • A set of questions for Standard Grade and Intermediate. These questions are graded in order of difficulty, the first question being easiest.
  • A set of questions for Higher Grade, with questions on Outcome 1 (in which students have to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of key political issues from the chosen study themes) and Outcome 2 (in which students have to analyse key political issues from the chosen study themes).
  • A ‘Further Enquiry’ section, for students who wish to investigate an issue more independently. One question in this section will involve ICT.
