Aims
The programmes raise awareness of the Liverpool dockers dispute (199598), and investigate the various instruments at a dramatists disposal. They aim: - To involve students in dramatic experience, and participation in the lives of characters.
- To encourage students acquisition of useful set of concepts with which to approach discussion, reading, writing and performance of dramatic texts.
- To promote a methodical approach to the study of drama through awareness of the mechanics of dramatic writing.
- To develop students interest in the craft of writing.
The 500 sacked Liverpool port workers and their families encourage teachers and pupils to view the Channel 4 Television two-part documentary Writing the Wrongs and the film Dockers. The drama offers all an opportunity to examine many aspects of contemporary UK society. Jim Nolan, shop steward
