Off Limits: In My Experience

Made by young people themselves, the three programmes offer a realistic insight into the issues which affect young people. The areas considered are friendship, dating and pressure. Each programme tells four different stories.

This format offers maximum flexibility for teachers since it allows them to play each programme all the way through or select set sections to view. Each programme is designed to provide a focus for broader discussion and follow-up work. A list of activities is suggested for use before, during and after viewing.

You may like to divide pupils into groups to view the programmes. Each group could be asked to focus on one story in particular. Alternatively, divide the class into groups and have each group consider all the stories and use this for discussion. If there are enough pupils in the class, you may wish to consider having single-sex groups. This may prompt discussion of the differences or similarities in the expectations of both males and females.
