Introduction

Beacons, a unit of five 15-minute programmes, is part of the All About Us series for 7-11 year olds. The programmes are set in the Brecon Beacons National Park in south Wales and follow the adventures of a group of primary school children, who are staying at an outdoor pursuits centre. During their stay, the characters are faced with a range of dilemmas and challenging situations and have to decide how to deal with them. Each episode of this drama focuses on specific issues relating to the children's relationships with each other and the environment.
