Curriculum Relevance

The programme is based on the play by Ad de Bont, first published in 1995. It is an ideal text for study at GCSE English or Standard Grade (Scotland). There are a number of major themes in the play, and the comparison between text and film could be set as a media assignment.

The programme might also be relevant for PSE, with a consideration of issues such as migration, and attitudes to people from other countries (refugees in particular). The programme is challenging, and some scenes may be disturbing.
