Aims

This programme aims to show how Scotland's energy needs are being and will be met. It will help pupils:

• understand why Shetland is so important to the oil industry
• see what life is like in remote areas like Shetland and how self-sufficiency in energy is very important
• know how Scotland is developing alternatives to established fossil fuels by using HEP, wind power, solar power and methane gas
• appreciate schemes which promote energy conservation
