Die Geschichte
Ein Kaufmann in Deutschland kommt nach Hause und bringt Geschenke für seine drei Töchter. Seine Lieblingstochter Hanna möchte keine Kleider oder Gold - sie möchte nur eine Rose. Aber Rosen sind rar im Winter. Der Kaufmann findet eine Rose, aber sie gehört einem Löwen! Der Löwe handelt mit Hannas Vater: Der Löwe schenkt dem Kaufmann das Leben und die Rose. Aber der Kaufmann muss das Lebewesen zum Schloss des Löwen senden, das ihn zu Hause als Erstes begrüßt! Ist es die Lieblingstochter Hanna? Natürlich ist es Hanna.
Hanna geht zum Schloss des Löwen. Aber sie findet einen Mann. Eine böse Zauberin hat den jungen Mann am Tag in einen Löwen verzaubert. Doch das ist noch nicht alles! …

The story
A travelling merchant in Germany returns home and brings presents for his three daughters. His favourite daughter Hanna does not want any clothes or gold - she only wants a rose. But roses are rare in winter. The merchant finds a rose but it belongs to a lion. The lion bargains with the merchant: He will spare his life and let him have the rose. But he must send the first creature that comes to greet him back home to the lion's castle. Is it going to be Hanna, the favourite daughter? Of course it is.
Hanna goes to the lion's castle. However, she finds a man. An evil witch has cast a spell on the young man to be a lion during daylight. But that's not all! …
