Northern Ireland
Supports the Key Stage 4 Programme of Study for Science in Northern
Ireland. The series contains resource material relevant to the NI
curriculum guidance on the Application of Science and on the Nature
of Science. The programmes will:
- Assist pupils in developing their experimental and
investigative skills (planning, carrying out, presenting and
interpreting results).
- Promote a greater understanding of living organisms and life
processes including the study of genetics, selection, reproduction,
etc.
- Help pupils to investigate and experiment with materials and
their uses; including chemical reactions, electronic structure and
chemical formulae, kinetic theory, etc.
- Support pupils' understanding of physical processes, energy and
forces; including electricity and magnetism, circuits, sound light
and waves, the electromagnetic spectrum, the Earth in Space,
etc.
Scotland
The programmes will be useful for supporting Knowledge and
Understanding and Investigation at Standard Grade Science and
Standard Grade Biology, Physics and Chemistry.
They will also be useful for aspects of the Higher Still courses in
Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
