Earth Patrol

Aims

• 
• To show how satellites in orbit around the Earth have revolutionised our understanding of our own planet.
• To describe the benefits of satellites for: global communications; monitoring the Earth's atmosphere, weather and oceans; navigation; land use; and agriculture.
• To outline some of the techniques of 'remote sensing' used by satellites to obtain information about the Earth.
• To give examples of some environmental problems on Earth and how satellites are used to monitor them.
