Our Star Is Born
Aims
- To show that the Sun is an ordinary, middle-aged star and the
hub of our Solar System.
- To provide a detailed description of the birth, evolution and
eventual death of the Sun.
- To illustrate the internal structure of the Sun and how its
energy is produced, emphasising that it is the ultimate source of
energy for the Earth.
- To describe the various layers of the Sun - the photosphere,
chromosphere and corona - and the activity and features of
each.
