Interview

  • How did you become an artist?
    My grandmother gave me a set of oil paints at the age of 4. Later I went to art college.
  • What sort of things do you think about when you are working on a picture?
    The research I've done and the colours I'm using and how I feel at the moment.
  • How long do you work for each day?
    I work about eight hours a day, starting early at about 7am.
  • What materials do you like working with best?
    Oil paint on canvas.
  • Where do you get ideas and inspiration from?
    People around me, faces and local characters.
  • What is your favourite colour?
    Turquoise, green and red.
  • Is there a piece of work that you would really like to do in the future?
    The entire set design for a Don Giovanni opera.
