Willing and Able Programme Outline
The programme is about disabled people and the challenges they face. An accident left Jean Higgins unable to walk. For five years she could not leave her home. Then help came along. Through Jean we learn something about what it means to be disabled in Britain in the late 1990s. Jean takes us on a tour of the city centre, pointing out all the obstacles that people in wheelchairs face. We also glimpse what life is like for disabled people in other parts of the world, including Angola.
