Movement

Programme Outline

Young gymnasts, divers and cyclists help us to explore the importance of muscles and bones. We compare the strength of a hollow and solid rod of steel, and make sense of why bike frames and human bones are hollow. Graphics illustrate how muscles work in pairs and we find out how a scientific understanding of movement is helping young Olympic hopefuls improve their dives.
