Immediate future

Good spread of different persons.

Vous allez me voir à la télé	You’re going to see me on TV

Future

Good spread of different persons. Good use of the implied future in several cases, note the translation here.

Tantôt il fera chaud	At times it will be hot
Tantôt il y aura de l’orage	At times it will be stormy
M’aimeras-tu quand je serai une superstar?	Will you love me when I’m a superstar?
Quand je serai une star, Sam mon ami, je ne t'oublierai pas	When I’m a star, Sam my friend, I won’t forget you
Vous aurez besoin de chocolat, d’œufs et de beurre	You will need chocolate, eggs and butter
Dans le sud du pays, il fera chaud	In the south of the country, it will be hot
Dans l’ouest du pays, il y aura du vent	In the west it will be windy
Il pleuvra dans l’est du pays	In the east it will rain

Conditional

J’aimerais bien qu’on me laisse tranquille	I’d like to be left alone
Je voudrais d’abord remercier mes parents…	First I would like to thank my parents…

Imperfect

Examples of continuous state/repeated actions.

Je voulais te faire du pop-corn à l’américaine!	I wanted to make you American-style popcorn.
Toi dans ‘Gladiateur’ ? Je ne savais pas.	You were in ‘Gladiator’? I didn’t know.
Qui est-ce que tu jouais?	Who were you playing?
J’avais un petit texte	I had some lines

Modal verbs

With the infinitive here, but this is not always the case.

Elle ne peut pas…	She can’t…
Je veux apprendre à cuisiner	I want to learn to cook
Si tu veux séduire une femme…	If you want to seduce a woman…
Je dois toujours me battre contre les taches	I always have to fight against stains
Combien de films je peux faire par an?	How many films can I make a year?
Nico, tu dois être fatigué	Nico, you must be tired
Travailler pour la télévision doit être difficile	Working in TV must be difficult

Imperatives, including cooking instructions

With a mixture of formal and informal ad-speak, cookery instructions, and positive and negative familiar commands, as well as use of just the infinitive, this is an interesting collection of examples of different usages in different situations. There are singular and plural examples and both regular and irregular verbs.
