Life on Earth Aims
- To make pupils aware of the concept of biodiversity, and to recognise it's importance.
- Pupils will learn that the tropical rainforests are among the planet's most richly biodiverse areas, and are crucially important as a source of foods and medicines - as well as supporting rare animal and human life.
- Pupils will learn about the rate at which the rainforests are being destroyed, and some of the reasons for that destruction.
- Gives pupils the opportunity to become active and responsible global citizens - by encouraging them to think about how their behaviour as consumers has consequences for people living in different parts of the world.
