With illustrative extracts from the television sitcom ‘Father Ted’, co-writer Graham Linehan reflects on the nature of the comedy genre. He, too, considers character, plot and structure.

Enda Walsh reflects on the inspiration for his writing and his use of dialogue.

Linehan comments on the nature of comic dialogue and reveals the value of redrafting, observing that ‘Writing isn’t writing: writing is rewriting’.
