Learning Outcomes

Pupils should be able to:

Use IT and other methods to research Islamic art, and the idea of expressing divine beauty in a non-representational way through architecture, art and music.

Use IT and other methods to research the making of paper and re-cycled paper. Appreciating the value of paper — a product we often take for granted.

Look at old books for past examples of marbling. Try to work out how the patterns were made.

Experiment with different methods of placing and merging the paint, and their resulting patterns.

Experiment with different combinations of colours and their effects.

Describe the patterns in words.

Experiment with making pictures on a background.
