Programme 2: Friends and Lovers

Aims

• to explore the experiences of young men and women growing up gay

• to examine the issues faced by younger gay teenagers, and the reasons for them

• to understand similarities and differences in the needs of gay and non-gay people

• to identify barriers to ‘coming out’ and being comfortable with your sexual orientation

• to increase understanding about gay issues in relation to social justice and inclusion
