Aims

• to reflect on some of the myths and stereotypes surrounding gay men

• to examine a range of behaviours towards a teenage boy thought to be gay

• to explore possible reasons for abusive behaviour experienced by gay men

• to consider what it might be like to be on the receiving end of such behaviour

• to explore consequences for victims, perpetrators and society, and a way ahead
