Learning Outcomes

The programme and the Net Notes should help learners to develop their knowledge and understanding of:

• whether people in Barcelona consider themselves Catalan or Spanish
• the historical background to devolution in Catalonia
• the ways in which Catalan culture and language have developed since devolution
• some of the limitations to the development of Catalan language and culture
• what the Catalan Parliament does and its continuing relationship with central government in Madrid
• the political priorities of the Ministry of Youth (Secretariat Joventut) of the Catalan Government
• funding political priorities.
