Programme 2 Community and Democracy

Aims

This programme explores two themes:

• how to make the best use of outside resources and experts in the community

• how to develop the school community as a vehicle for citizenship learning

It falls into two main parts: the first focuses on the links between schools and their local communities, while the second examines the issues around consulting pupils on issues of significance to them, including school councils.
