Curriculum Relevance Scotland
In the Secondary Stages (2000), the curriculum design identifies the following abilities as goals for pupils: - taking increasing responsibility for their own lives
- looking after their own personal needs, health and safety
- being sensitive and responsive to the needs of others
- making decisions based on informed judgements
- dealing responsibly with their emotions
Look at the guidelines on sex education in Scottish Schools, produced by Learning and Teaching Scotland and the Scottish Executive 2001. Also look at school guidelines on Health Education, the Health Promoting School and Personal and Social Development.
