Robots Aims
 - To illustrate how our knowledge of the planets is largely based on information gathered by robot probes - our envoys in the Solar System.
- To give a detailed mission profile for a Mars orbiter probe.
- To review in detail the missions of the two Voyager probes to the gas giant planets.
- To illustrate the concept of 'gravity-assist' by describing the Ulysses solar polar mission, and the circuitous trajectory of the Galileo spacecraft to Jupiter and its satellites.
- To describe the highly successful Mars Pathfinder lander and Sojourner rover.
- To demonstrate that things can sometimes go wrong!
