Your Rights and Wrongs At Work

Aims

• To inform school-aged pupils of their rights and responsibilities concerning part-time work
• To help them decide which part-time jobs to seek and which to avoid

As a result of watching the programme and using these notes pupils should be able to:

• state the current legal restrictions on KS3 or 4 pupils being employed
• explain the reasons for this legislation
• recognise that employers and employees have rights and responsibilities at work
• give examples of work available locally which KS3 or 4 pupils can undertake
• show how they would obtain work appropriate to their age
• obtain a valid work permit
