Nicola Bealing Aims
Students should gain an understanding of: - How artists are inspired by many and diverse things, and how their work takes many forms, including direct observation from life and landscapes derived from their imagination and memory.
- How sorting and selecting second-hand images such as photographs can provide the stimulus for a piece of art. How collecting visual images using sketchbooks is a constant occupation of artists, helping them to recall times, places, people and ideas.
- How an artist organises a paint palette and uses brushes and materials.
- How an artist prepares for, plans and develops a landscape composition.
- How use of colour can conjure up mood or atmosphere in a painting.
