Electricity for the Future

Aims

To provide information and resources to support teachers in the following areas:

• the generation of electricity
• the environmental problems associated with the use of non-renewable fossil fuels
• the use of alternative fuels
• the advantages and disadvantages of renewable energy resources

Pupils should be able to:

• list the steps involved in generating electricity
• assess the advantages and disadvantages of generating electricity from a variety of resources
