Programme 1: Chart Hits

Introduction

The programme shows two different approaches to composing song material:
1. ‘Feeling Irie’ by UK Garage artists DJ Luck and MC Neat comes from the loop tradition of dance music (with its use of repetitive phrases) mixed with the rhythm and excitement of rap.
2. ‘Would You Be Happier?’ by The Corrs shows a more traditional method where chords, melody and lyrical ideas develop closely together.
