Introduces mentor John Boyle and the Belle & Bunty team of Alice Shreeve, Hannah Coniam and Toby Meadows. Describes their fashion business, which is turning heads but making no money.

John advises the team to look for a licensing agreement with a large retailer in order to move its brand into the commercial arena.

The team identifies items that could be produced under licence. Toby approaches potential retail partners.

10:03 – 13:43

A flawed sample collection arrives. Hannah goes to India to sort out the problem. John urges the team to get back on track and look to the future.

13:44 – 16:50

Progress is slow. John, Alice and Hannah discuss how to create a press profile and build the brand. John pushes them to look for a licensing agreement. The team runs an unsuccessful press day.

Networking enables the team to meet some buyers from Debenhams and pitch its ideas for a diffusion range of childrenswear.

Progress review. Belle & Bunty is better placed to attract investment. Spending plans include paying themselves wages and improving the studio.
