PROGRAMME 1: CLAWS & PAWS

PROGRAMME AIMS

• To support work-related learning and enterprise activities for all 14- to 19-year-olds as an alternative to, or a reinforcement for, first-hand experience
• To provide real-life examples of business practices and entrepreneurial skills
• To raise awareness of basic concepts of business organisation and management
• To explore factors that promote successful entrepreneurial activity.

THE PROBLEM

Claws & Paws is a mobile pet-grooming service. Sharon White is its sole owner and employee. She has more work than she can cope with and knows her prices are low but doesn't like asking clients for more money.

The team set a two-week agenda to rebrand Sharon's business, recruit another member of staff, re-evaluate her pricing structure and hold a relaunch party.

The programme follows Adam, Michael and Sarah as they tackle each item on the agenda and develop Sharon's business and enterprise skills.
