Teens on Trial

BEN - DOPE SMOKING

Ben is a 15 year old from Caister-On-Sea and regularly smokes cannabis. He happily walks over two and half miles to Great Yarmouth, where he meets up with his friends to smoke cannabis. He really enjoys the buzz he gets from smoking and also seems to love all the paraphernalia involved in taking drugs. Ben has also been in trouble due to aggression. His mother and younger brother Joe say that his cannabis use has affected his personality, often making him tired, irritable and aggressive. Despite enjoying cannabis Ben appreciates that it has a detrimental effect on his personality and hinders his ability to control himself. His biggest ambition is to get a moped for his sixteenth birthday, but his mother and stepfather will only allow this if he gives up smoking. Ben understands that if he continues to smoke and rides a moped he will be endangering his life.
