Someone else's shoes
Clip 1: 04:23 – 05:55
How do you think you would feel in Natashia's position? If Natashia hadn't stepped in, what might have happened to the family? What impact do you think acting as carer has had on Natashia's life? Complete the sentences 'Natashia is…' and 'Kerry is…' in three different ways. Do you think Natashia has handled her life well so far?
How many people are you?
Natashia describes herself as being a 'noisier, whackier Natashia' once she's at college. Why do you think that is? Are you different person at school from the one you are at home?
Dowload the printable chart:

Word file, 22KB
Fill in the chart with words that describe you in different situations. Do you think your parents or other family members also have different sides to their personality that come out in different situations? Add any new headings you need to the chart, and fill it in for them.
A mum at 17
Do you think Natashia's pregnancy is a good thing for her? Why might she be pleased to be pregnant? List the pros and cons of pregnancy for Natashia. Is teenage pregnancy always a bad thing? Kerry says she wants Natashia to have a normal teenage life. What kind of things might a teenager want to do that Natashia has missed out on? How easy will it be for her to do these things once she has a baby of her own?
Watching the film
Natashia and Kerry both worry about whether the other will be able to handle the changes that are happening in their lives. How could they best help each other? What has gone wrong with their relationship? Do you get the impression that either of them is likely to change as a result of seeing the film?
