The Sun has been a consistent subject of controversy. From the early 1970s, both feminists and many cultural conservatives have objected to its Page 3, which they saw as pornographic, sexist, demeaning and exploitative. Some of the early models were 16 or 17 years old, and since the Sexual Offences Act 2003 it has been illegal to possess topless pictures of these 'children' (despite the age of consent in the UK being 16) if a jury considers them to be indecent.

This is an international magazine aimed at men between the ages of 21 and 45. It is known for its revealing pictures of scantily-clad actresses, singers and models. There are also short articles on subjects such as sports, films and fashion.
