MUM'S GONE GAY
PROGRAMME OUTLINE
00:00 – 04:07
The Grahams are busy getting on with family life until… Dave picks up a message on Louise's mobile – from Debbie, her lover.
04:08 – 07:28
Dave plays the message for the whole family – as well as Josh's friend, Kieran – to hear. The family is thrown into a state of hurt, anger and confusion.
07:29 – 12:09
The morning after. Louise has left early for work. Carly questions Dave but he's as bewildered as she is. Carly and Josh cut up Louise's clothes, starting with a red jumper Carly recently gave her mum as a gift.
12:10 – 15:35
At school, Carly is distant from her best friend Abi, and Josh asks Kieran not to say anything about what he heard. Louise sits them down after school for a chat but Carly is not ready to listen.
15:36 – 23:38
The next day, Carly hears girls talking about her mum in the toilets. She approaches a teacher for support, but misunderstands his sympathy and kisses him. Her parents are called up to school as Carly is placed on an internal exclusion. Carly and Louise row in the car afterwards.
23:39 – 26:57
Josh is teased while playing football. His 'friends' taunt Louise in the street and smash a window. Carly blames Josh for this. She meets with Abi to talk things through.
26:58 – 31:45
Dave and Josh have a meal out together, but Carly doesn't show. Instead she visits Pink, the gay bar where her mum met Debbie. She has a long think on the bus journey home. Later, Louise discovers a replacement red jumper has been left in the kitchen. It could be the first step towards reconciliation.
