Gok Wan with Lauren (Programme 8)
Eight young people get practical support with problems that are holding them back in life. A team of mentors helps them to turn their lives around in a six-week period. The young people tackle challenges, learn new skills and undergo makeovers.
The Mentors
- Lisa Smosarski, Bliss Magazine editor – problem-spotter, confidante and motivator
- Dr Stephen Briers, clinical psychologist – supporter and problem-solver
- Gok Wan and Hannah Sandling, stylists – makeovers.
The Young People
- Jack, champion dancer – shy and insecure off the dance floor
- Tom, student – stroppy, rebellious and always in trouble
- Alex, job-seeker – Chav devotee, taken for a yob
- Sarah, trainee nursery nurse – young for her age
- Cameron, wannabe model – shy yet inadvertently intimidates people
- Alison, job-seeker – terrified of job interviews
- Mark, student – self-conscious, freezes in social situations
- Lauren, student – no idea how to get on with boys.
