Eight young people get practical support with problems that are holding them back in life. A team of mentors helps them to turn their lives around in a six-week period. The young people tackle challenges, learn new skills and undergo makeovers.

  • Dr Stephen Briers, clinical psychologist – supporter and problem-solver
  • Gok Wan and Hannah Sandling, stylists – makeovers.

The Young People

  • Tom, student – stroppy, rebellious and always in trouble
  • Alex, job-seeker – Chav devotee, taken for a yob
  • Sarah, trainee nursery nurse – young for her age
  • Cameron, wannabe model – shy yet inadvertently intimidates people
  • Alison, job-seeker – terrified of job interviews
  • Mark, student – self-conscious, freezes in social situations
