PROGRAMME 6 – CHARLOTTE

Charlotte is 20 and lives in a hostel with other young people. She used to be into cocaine, speed and pills, but she is now doing well in turning her life around. She really wants to get a job and have some structure in her life, rather than having too much time on her hands. Recently, she has split up from a boyfriend who was violent, but she is finding it difficult to stop worrying about him. Her main problem is that she really likes one of her housemates – Gary – but can't decide whether or not it is a good idea to start another relationship. Her friends record their advice on camera.

PROGRAMME AIMS

• To stress the importance of talking about feelings and problems
• To show how it is possible to get out of an abusive relationship and start a better life
• To show how it is important to be clear to potential partners about how you feel
• To illustrate the importance of work as a source of structure in our lives and to boost self-esteem.
