ACTIVITIES
Guidance
Teachers should refer to the general Guidance and consider undertaking a group agreement before viewing the programmes and undertaking the activities.
Programme-related activities
- Students should watch the whole programme before undertaking the following tasks
- The tasks may be undertaken individually, in pairs or in groups (see individual tasks for further guidance)
- Encourage whole-class discussion and feedback after each activity.
Task 1: Market stall
This activity involves the following technique:
- First, students work in groups of four or five to produce a list, a poster or ideas on a sheet (see chart in the Market stall activity sheet, downloadable below)
- Next, two students stay by their table but stand up, holding whatever they have written/drawn (they set out their market stall)
- Then, the other two students visit the other stalls around the room. The people running each stall convince the visitors of their views whilst those visiting can ask searching questions.
