PROGRAMME 7: CONTRACEPTION AND STIS

This programme is all about types of contraception and the protection they offer against unplanned pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections (STIs). It covers topics such as withdrawal (risky), condoms, lubrication, how to use a condom, emergency contraception and where to obtain it, sexual health clinics, challenges and barriers to practising safe sex, religious views on contraception and the rise of chlamydia among young people.

PROGRAMME AIMS

• To present some information about contraception and STIs in a humorous way
• To look at some of the cultural history around contraception and STIs
• To consider and challenge some of the myths that surround condom use and STIs
• To find out what the general public think about contraception and STIs
• To offer some advice about a common problem for young couples.
