GET ME THE PRODUCER!
PROGRAMME 4
PROGRAMME OUTLINE
00.00 – 9.59
The two teams are set this week's task: to make a short comedy to meet Greg Dyke's challenge – 'Make me laugh'. He has arranged for them to go and see six up-and-coming comedians performing; each team will select one of them to work with. Greg's brief is that the show must involve the comedian interacting with the public, and his choice for this week's producers is Sid (Team A) and Michael (Team B).
09.19 – 15.40
The teams choose the comedians they wish to work with: Patrick Monahan (Sid's team) and Rudi Lickwood (Michael's team). They have their initial meetings with them, before going home to think up ideas for using the comedians in a five-minute show.
15.00 – 24.48
The two teams present their ideas to their editors. Jeremy Salsby thinks Sid's choice of comedian is risky, but Ruth Joseph is quite happy with the idea of Rudi Lickwood campaigning as a politically-incorrect Mayor of London. Both teams invite their respective comedians to a meeting to consider ideas.
24.08 – 35.32
The teams begin filming their comedians at work. Team A has ignored Jeremy's advice. Rob claims injury and stands back from the team. Rebeka has doubts about their producer, Sid, who is obviously struggling, and Chris has doubts about their choice of comedian. Michael has prepared much more thoroughly, with props and hired 'muscle'. Sid starts to organise Team A's filming and recruits the public. Things go better, the team's morale is raised and Rob rejoins his team. Both teams complete their filming.
34.52 – 40.38
Greg, Jeremy, Ruth and the two teams watch the finished products. The judges' opinion is that Team A has been too dependent on their comedian whilst Team B had a better idea but it was not so successfully executed. They made a funny comedian not funny.
39.58 – end
Greg's verdict is that Team A has won this week. He wants to speak to Rob on his own and Greg tells him bluntly that he must play a full part in his team and support his producer, whatever his own ideas. However, it is Michael as the producer of the losing team who is sent home.
