Sixteen-year-old Matthew
There were 1,697 children born in Britain on 12 November 1989, the day the Berlin Wall came down. In 2005, 300 of these children took part in a national survey and eight were filmed as they celebrated their 16th birthdays.
In an honest portrayal of teenage life in the 21st Century, this feature-length programme reveals what today's teenagers think about their lives, and their hopes and fears for the future.
The teenagers featured in the programme are:
- Natalie from Manchester
- Emily who lives in the Cotswolds
- Gus from Mitcham in London
- George who is at boarding school in Wiltshire
- Matthew from Eccles in Greater Manchester
- Shamina who lives in an Asian community in the East End of London
- Daina who lives in rural Norfolk
- Courtney from Essex.
