The River Mersey used to be grubby and dirty but now it’s clean. That’s thanks to the Mersey Basin Trust. Visit this website to find how you can get involved surveying a local stream or river.

Anglian Water
Another great website. Just click on the Schools button to get to the ‘Water in our Lives’ section.

Welsh Water
Lots of interesting stuff on this site. Work out how much water your school uses and how you can reduce it – just look for ‘DIY Water Audit School’ in the pull down menu. Also, in the Your Education section of the site, look for the ‘Splash Pack' for posters, activity cards and science challenges. Then, you can try out the interactive activities in Water and Wildlife or take a peek at how the water cycle works. In the Wateraids 'Water Literate' section you can find out about water usage in third world countries. Wow.

Southern Water
Go to the Knowledge Zone to find lots of useful information on things like using water wisely and bathing water quality results as well as information on the water cycle.
