Setting up a Campaigning Group
The great thing about being in a group is that the work can be shared. These are the people you need:

Fundraisers
Must be good at persuading other people to part with their money!

Secretary
Takes notes at meetings in case any group members fall asleep!
Ideal position for anyone with a computer who can type using more than one finger.

Treasurer
Looks after any cash your campaigning brings in. Must be honest and good at maths.

The Spokesperson/Press Officer
Give this job to the most attractive and confident member of the group, someone who actually enjoys performing in the school play. Don’t all apply at once! The Press Officer must keep the media (that’s the local paper(s), radio and TV stations) informed of your group’s activities.

Everyone
All members of the team must be ready to deliver leaflets, petition and write letters, help find out what the public thinks about an issue and take part in demonstrations - at the drop of a hat.

This idea was taken from a Friends of the Earth book called 'Causing A Stink - The Eco Warrior's Handbook' by Caroline Clayton, published by Bloomsbury Publishing Plc.
