Wrap Attack

  • About one-third of the rubbish in the average dustbin is packaging.

The manufacturers like packaging. It can make their products seem bigger or better than they really are. They will only reduce their packaging if customers demand simpler wrapping.

Unwrap a week's shopping in one go and take a look at it.

How many layers of packaging are there?

How much is really needed?

Can it be refilled?

Is it made of recycled materials?

Can you recycle it?

Work out who are the worst offenders and send them a Wrap Attack award or design one of your own. (If you find a very overpackaged product tell us about it here.)

WRAP ATTACK AWARD
CONGRATULATIONS
Please accept this
WRAP ATTACK
award with my compliments.

The above-named product is over-packaged and so causes
unnecessary waste.
PLEASE PACK IT IN!
I will not be buying this product again until you reduce its
packaging.
