Here's a start - BUT don't
forget the simple things you can
do.
OK, the moter car has brought independent freedom of movement to
many; most of us can’t wait until we’re old enough to
jump into the driving seat… but let’s face up to a few
facts:
- The car uses large amounts of resources
- during both construction and use.
- The car is a major cause of injury and
accidental death.
- The car is a major polluter and a
probable cause of asthma and other breathing problems.
The number of cars in the world is growing rapidly.
Unless we are prepared to spend more on public transport - through
investment or through fares - the CAR will continue to be the first
transport choice.
SO…what’s the alternative?
