Sad Man sings a song with the Great Big Hen to demonstrate the effect of multiplying a decimal number by ten. Bad Man introduces the Monster Machines that sing a couple of catchy songs containing useful rules for multiplying and dividing numbers by 10 or 100.
In the street, a passer-by is quite bewildered by Bad Man who tells him he has won a special prize. In the Great Hall the contestants complete the tasks and win their first maths card.
