World War Two children
QCA Unit 9

What's the big idea?

The nation was expecting an invasion and there were constant shortages because factories were working at full stretch to arm and equip the troops, and were unable to produce goods for the home market.

Life changed for everybody, including children. Some were evacuated to escape the bombing. Others experienced disrupted schooling, a restricted diet and the constant threat of air raids.
