Activities for home - Using a Maximum/Minimum Thermometer

Can you read three temperatures from this thermometer?

  1. The present temperature.

  2. The coldest temperature since you last used it.

  3. The hottest temperature since you last used it.

    Look for these features on the thermometer:

    • two floating pins

    • the thermometer liquid

    • the scale

    • the minus numbers on the scale

    • the reset button

Now try this...

Use these thermometers to practise reading the temperatures.
